How It Began
Chopt started in a modest kitchen with one unwavering conviction: food should tell a story. Our founder, a self-taught chef with a passion for bold global spices, began serving hand-chopped salads and grain bowls at local markets in Georgia.

2012
Founded in a home kitchen in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. Our founder Marcus Reid begins serving hand-chopped bowls and salads at weekend farmers markets, attracting an immediate loyal following.
2014
Chopt opens its first brick-and-mortar location at 4880 Peachtree Corners Cir. The community response is overwhelming — fully booked within the first week of opening.
2016
Chopt expands into corporate catering and private events, bringing the signature chopt restaurant experience directly to offices, weddings, and community gatherings across Georgia.
2018
We go digital with a full online ordering platform, making it easier than ever for guests to get their favorite Chopt meals delivered fresh to their doorstep across United States.
2021
Chopt pledges to achieve full compostable packaging, partners with 12 local organic farms, and launches the Chopt Community Meals program — donating 1 meal for every 10 orders placed.
2024
Chopt celebrates serving its 50,000th unique guest — a milestone that reflects not just growth, but the deep trust our community has placed in the Chopt brand and experience.
